CDC Alert: Prepare for an Active 2026 Tick Season

As tick activity increases, it is important to take precautions when spending time outdoors. Ticks can transmit diseases such as Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and other tick-borne illnesses. Protect yourself by using EPA-registered insect repellent, wearing long sleeves and pants when possible, avoiding areas with tall grass and dense vegetation, and checking your clothing and body for ticks after outdoor activities. Early tick removal can help reduce the risk of infection. Dr. Danish Ali explains.
