Meet Dr. Danish Ali

Dr. Danish Ali is a fellowship-trained triple board-certified interventional pain management specialist and assistant professor at the University of Houston's College of Medicine. 

A Houston native, Dr. Ali graduated from University of Houston with Honors. He obtained his medical degree from the University of North Texas' Health Science Center in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Concurrently in Medical School, he obtained a certificate in Public Health. Dr. Ali furthered his medical education by specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Texas Dell Medical School within the Seton Brain & Spine Institute in Austin, Texas. His special interest in pain medicine led him to further sub-specialize in Pain Management at University of Texas Medical Branch with affiliation of the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. 

Dr. Ali’s focus is to improve the opioid epidemic by offering patients comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to the practice of pain medicine and the application of interventional treatments for management of acute or chronic pain and related diseases. Dr. Ali specializes in degenerative diseases of the spine, post-surgical pain, cancer pain, arthritis, headaches, joint & extremity pain, sports medicine, and various musculoskeletal & neurological disorders. 

Dr. Ali is active in and out of the medical community, he has presented in numerous medical conferences. He has been featured in various news articles and is the Medical Correspondent for FOX26 Houston where he is regularly on television discussing various current medical issues in the community. He is also active in training medical students and residents, serving as an Assistant Professor for University of Houston College of Medicine and Baylor College of Medicine. 

Beyond his love and dedication to medicine, Dr. Ali enjoys spending time with his friends and family, including his wife and two kids. He is active at the gym and routinely exercises as well as playing basketball outdoors when weather permits.

Meet Dr. Harsha Kannan

Harsha R. Kannan, DO is a fellowship-trained interventional pain management specialist dedicated to providing compassionate, holistic, comprehensive, and patient-centric care to provide patients with pain relief and a functional life.


He began his educational journey in Richmond, VA where he completed his Bachelor’s degree of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University before obtaining a Master’s in Physiology and Biophysics at the VCU School of Medicine. He then went on to further his medical education at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV.


After acquiring his medical degree, he completed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX before pursuing a fellowship to specialize in interventional pain management for chronic pain syndromes through the Thomas Jefferson University Health system in Philadelphia, PA. This journey has brought him full circle back to Houston, TX where he and his wife now reside so that he can provide patients an ear for their concerns and a plan towards a functional, pain-free, and enriched life.


In his spare time, Dr. Kannan enjoys art, culture, music, spoken word poetry, outdoor adventures, traveling, maintaining an active lifestyle through exercise, and relishing quality moments with his wife, his pup, and his loved ones.
